5 Winter Boots for Men

Like much of the Northeast, DC got hit hard by winter storms yesterday. Bundling up and preparing to go out in the cold is of great importance, especially when it comes to shoes. (Have you slipped on that ice? Ouch! It's brutal!). Here are 5 different winter boot options to get guys through the next part of winter.

1. For the Winter Sports Guy

In what has to be one of the greatest innovations ever for the winter shoe, this Columbia Bugathermo Boot is heated. Yup, it contains a heating system with rechargeable batteries. It's also waterproof and has a temperature display on the exterior of the boot.

2. For the Urban Cowboy

This X-Lace Boot by John Varvatos has a rough and tumble feel. It's currently on sale at Neiman Marcus for $359, down from its original $789 price tag.

Snow will arrive this afternoon and is expected to fall and accumulate quickly during the evening hours. The snow is expected to be of a heavy and wet texture, meaning, the weight of the snow accumulating on trees and overhead utility lines could result in power outages. The men and women of the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department want you to remember Safety First!!!

400,000 Customers Affected By Prince George's Water Main Break

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA) -- The inner loop of the Capital Beltway has reopened south of Exit 15 (Central Avenue/Route 214) after a water main break Monday morning. Maryland State Police were on the scene directing traffic.

Lyn Riggins, spokeswoman for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, says the break occurred in a 54-inch water main around 4:00 a.m. at an office park that backs up to the Beltway.

WSSC says it dumped out more than 50 million gallons of water. Cars turned over in the water and cars crashed on the ice in the inner loop of the Beltway. The road was closed for seven hours, causing colossal back-ups.
