Greenbelt Forest Pumpkin Walk

Saturday, October 23, Greenbelt’s Northway Woods will be lit for one half-mile with hundreds of Jack-o-lanterns.

This 20 year tradition was created to preserve the forest, (which is one of Greenbelt’s most original designs) and to raise awareness of the beautiful trails and greens to the community.

Thanks to sponsors and active members of the community, the gorgeous pumpkins are set out on the trail at 5pm for the event.  After the event, people may retrieve their pumpkins, take home pumpkins donated by sponsors, and the rest will be composited.

Did I mention there will be free apple cider and hot cocoa?

Please bring your own mug, cup, or thermos to savor this delicious treat and warm up while you walk the trail.

The day before the walk, there is a free carving day for the festival from 4-8pm outside the Roosevelt Center at the intersection of Crescent Road and Gardenway Road in Greenbelt MD.  The carving day includes performances from live music bands - classic Hindustani violinist, dueling banjos, bluegrass, and an old time string band!

Free tools will be provided for carving, or you can bring your own. Bring your own pumpkin/pumpkins or carve some of the sponsor's!

The event begins right at dark and last until 9pm.
