Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, released the following holiday greeting to County citizens.

“This season shows Prince George’s County at its best. Our diverse communities and municipalities are hosting a variety of events to mark the holidays - Watkins Park is aglow with the beautiful Festival of Lights, National Harbor has become a top holiday destination for the region and Prince Georgians across the County are decorating their homes, finding the perfect gifts for family, observing faith traditions and customs, donating to charity, and volunteering to help others.

I am grateful for all of our residents who have given of themselves this holiday season, and all year long, in order to help those who are less fortunate. For more volunteer opportunities, please click here.  I appreciate and thank our first responders in police, fire and corrections, who are taking time away from home this season to keep Prince George’s County safe. We are so grateful for their dedicated service always, and I wish them and their families a blessed holiday.

To the families and friends of our armed forces, I also extend my gratitude and honor, especially those who are celebrating the holidays without a loved one this year. Though the men and women of the United States military may be far from home this season, they are not far from our thoughts, and I wish all of our troops a safe and happy holiday.

This is a time to reconnect with the people we love. As my family gathers to celebrate, we wish you and yours a peaceful, joyous season, and a safe and prosperous new year. Happy holidays, Prince George’s County.”
