Hundreds of pet lovers give shelter animals a second chance

Christmas came early to hundreds of pets at the Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility due to the success of the “500 Paws for a Claus” pet adoption event held during the month of December.  The event was designed to place shelter animals into loving, forever homes and provided pet lovers half off regular fees for any animal adopted throughout the month.

“We are happy to report that we were able to find permanent, loving homes for 247 animals and currently have an additional 85 applications pending approval for adoption, “ said Associate Director Rodney Taylor. “Thank you to those who took advantage of the opportunity to visit the shelter during this event to meet and adopt a new best friend.”

The Animal Management Division reminds County citizens and residents that it still has adoptable animals available at the facility.  To view the animals, visit www.princegeorgespets4us.com or for more information, contact the Animal Services Facility at (301) 780-7200.
