Spring is in the air and Prom season is just around the corner.  The Priceless Gown Project invites high juniors and seniors who may need a dress to join us for a FREE gown on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Comfort Inn and Conference Center in Bowie, MD.

The gowns are available on a first come, first serve basis

The Priceless Gown Project was co-founded in 2004 by Rebecca, Robin, Kristen and Nicole. In 2000, Rebecca began mentoring a 13 year old young lady through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. This young lady was living with her aunt and three cousins in a crime infested neighborhood in West Baltimore City. Although they came from different walks of life, the connection was immediate. Several years later, her “Little Sister” approached her junior year of high school and anxiously began plans for her first prom night. This young lady, like thousands of teens across the country, simply couldn’t afford everything involved in attending the prom. The tickets, the dress, the shoes…it was simply too much for her family. Unfortunately, her "Little Sister" never made it to her own prom night but this experience got the wheels turning.  Looking back, she had wondered if pooling together resources from her friends and family could have given her "Little Sister" the experience of prom night?  Weren't there so many fabulous gowns that could have been donated for the cause?  What began as an effort to help one student has developed into a project that has touched the lives of hundreds of people.

In the early spring of 2004 Rebecca, along with co-founding members Robin, Kristen and Nicole watched over 300 girls find dresses of their dreams at the first annual Priceless Gown Boutique. In addition, many of these girls received shoes and accessories to add a special touch for that very special evening.

The goal of the project is to grow exponentially with every passing year. The Baltimore community has been incredibly supportive, and with their continued assistance through donations and volunteer work, it is certain that The Priceless Gown Project can help in creating prom memories for thousands of teens in the years to come.

The Priceless Gown Project was created in an effort to help young women attend their prom who would not be able to finance the experience on their own. Prom is a significant milestone in the life of a young woman and you can help create this priceless memory. Help us send these girls to prom with elegance and style! Donate your formal attire, volunteer your time or make a financial contribution. It is a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging self-esteem and peer socialization through donations of formal wear which is distributed annually to financially challenged young women for public high school functions like the Prom.
