GREENBELT, Md. (AP) - Prince George's County Police say a man has died after being struck and killed while trying to cross a road in Greenbelt.

It happened about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at Greenbelt Road and Aerospace Drive. Police say 58-year-old Armado Fernandez of Greenbelt was crossing Greenbelt Road when he was hit by a car.

Officers say Fernandez died Wednesday at a local hospital. Investigators say he was not walking in a crosswalk.

Police say the driver who hit Fernandez remained at the scene.
