MD men force victims out of car at gunpoint, rob them

GREENBELT, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Laurel man was arrested for forcing two victims out of their car at gunpoint and then robbing them with the help of another suspect in Greenbelt, Md. on April 11.


Kendrick Savoy of Laurel, Md. was arrested in connection with the armed carjacking that happened in the 8000 block of Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt, deputies said.

Savoy and another suspect went up to the two victims in their car while pointing a gun at them. They forced the two to get out of the car and lay down on the ground, according to officials. The suspects then robbed both of the victims of their cellphones and wallet. The suspects then fled in the victims' car.

Savoy was found in a home in Lanham, hiding in the shower. He was arrested and is being charged with carjacking, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of first and second assault, firearm use/felony violent crime, handgun on person, handgun in vehicle, theft to 1,000 to 10,000 and theft less than $1,000.
