Quince Orchard Marching Cougars To Perform At The White House Ellipse

 

Field Show USA will take Marching Bands from the traditional football field performance and place them right in the center of our nation's capital. It will take place on October 10, 2011at The White House Ellipse, and will feature marching bands from across the USA. The Marching Cougars of Quince Orchard High School (Gaithersburg, MD), two-time Maryland State Band Champions will compete in this event at 11:15am.

The event will begin with a combined Marching Band performance of "America the Beautiful" and our "National Anthem."  This will be performed in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11. 

PGCPS Superintendent Named To National PTA Board of Directors

 

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. William R. Hite Jr., was recently appointed to the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Board. Dr. Hite’s term will expire in 2013

During his term, Dr. Hite will support the National PTA in meeting the goals of their strategic plan as they collectively create a research agenda that advocates family engagement to support educational success, health, and well-being; develop and implement evidence-based policy, programs and resources; recognize and implement best practices among PTAs through 2013.

"WELCOME BACK" Students, Teachers, Parents, Guidance Counselors, Principals, Superintendent and School Board Members... We have a great STEM line up for this year. BOE To Host First Meeting Of The School Year

 

Upper Marlboro, Maryland – The Prince George's County Board of Education will host the first Board Meeting of the 2011-2012 school year on Thursday, August 25, at 7:05 p.m. 

Key topics of discussion include a report on the start of the school year that features information on staffing, class size, transportation, and more. Montgomery County Public Schools Do Well in ACT

 

According to ACT’s annual report: Students in the Montgomery County Public Schools' (MCPS) Class of 2011 consistently outperformed their peers in Maryland and the nation on all sections of the ACT college admissions exam.

The average composite score for MCPS graduates was 23.2 in 2011, compared to 22.1 for Maryland and 21.1 for the nation.
